The Genomics Building at the University of California, Riverside, expected to open in September 2009, will be home to cutting-edge multidisciplinary research on genomics - the study of hereditary information encoded in an organism's DNA. Natasha Raikhel, the director of UC Riverside's Institute for Integrative Genome Biology, talks about the benefits of doing such collaborative research and discusses the geometric artwork, designed by UCR's James Isermann, that compliments the building's aesthetic integrity.
