Grey Hammett of SportsmanGuys.com and Chef Tony from BBQGuys.com give an in depth review and ice test of the top 5 coolers on the marketing. Including: Engel Coolers, IRP Coolers, Igloo Coolers, Coleman Extreme Cooler, and Yeti Cooler.
Check out this in depth review including a weigh in, and closeups of the drains, hinges, and other components of the coolers. Also, check out who does the best in the ice test!
I wouldn't buy the IRP just because of those stupid LOUD and annoying latches!
Other than that great video with lots of info. Thanks.

the coleman xtreme has no gasket at all. i have the 50 qt ultra extreme. coleman has better coolers 10 years ago when there extreme models were built better with lid gaskets and a uniform body thickness. my new ultra extreme has a funky mold to the front of the cooler that goes to thin for my liking. it also has a nasty air leak especially near lid clasp. the wheels on the cooler are black and black is a bad idea with building a cooler.the cup holders on the lid are thin spots . /sigh

8 days... pretty good. Was everything kept indoors prior to the test to acclimate? Why only 6 cans???? Were the coolers kept indoors for the 8 days? Not very "real world", is it?
I would have preferred a more real world scenario in terms of food stuffs, even though the amazing 8 day # wouldnt have been reached. I have a cheap Coleman and it kept ice for about 36 hours. Hot out of the garage, warm pop and gatorade to start...not that bad. Kept outdoors at 90 day, 75 night.

i would like to know what the temps were inside of each cooler befor the ice was put in them that would make a big diff in how much the ice would melt i would like to have all the coolers at the same temp and then start from there

I was a little disappointed in the Yeti being that I want one. The main factors for me as to why I like Yeti are the latches, handles and size. A friend of mine charters a flats boat and uses his Yeti to stand on from time to time. Though the performance past 4 days is a non issue for me.
I have been using an IcyTec cooler for years and it isn't of the caliber of the Yeti. What I have found to help with keeping the ice longer is to put some ice inside about a day in advance to cool it down.
