This is a beginner's guide to being a Vampire in Skyrim.

Honestly, I think being a vampire is just a gimmick that offers no real advantage. All the advantages you gain are countered, if not outweighed, by disadvantages. That being said, I think being a vampire is more fun if you like to role play. I never thought of making a class based solely around being a vampire, I'll have to try that.

@NoNameC68 Na dude, it gives you a serious advantage. if you are a thief, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. you can manage and manipulate it to your advantage too. I took the lord stone and I'm a dark elf, plus I have fire resist gear, so it's a non-issue. and since I'm completely undetectable when muffled, invisible and sneaking, none of it is an issue. it's all bonuses. just have to break in somewhere and feed on occasion.

in the beginning being a vampire is hard but when you get necromage and enchant your armor with regen it'll get better :D I'm building a char right now with this build as basis

High Elf

Atronach Stone

Perks: Atronach (Alteration), Necromage (Restoration).

Extra: Destruction, illusion, one handed, sneak, conjuration, alchemy.

Mages deal no harm. Kill warrior off from afar or charm them. There is no real sneaky enemies. In between, hide in the shadows, or enter combat with dual bound swords and alteration buffs.

Necromage buffs effects "against" undead. If you are a vampire, you count. Everything that is affecting you (other then armour points) is boosted 50%.

@PhillyAssassinX Well, as many people have pointed out, it really depends on playstyle and preference. If you don't mind sacrificing your ability to fight during the day, taking time to feed when needed, compensating for the fire weakness, vampire can be quite beneficial, provided you also take advantage of the spells.

I enjoy playing a vampire character, but I don't take advantage of everything so it's just for added challenge and appeal.

@NoNameC68 Only found being a vampire useful for getting night eye without being a Khajiit, but it killed my play style; I walk everywhere in the game and hit dungeons on the way to larger quests in order to just level ma character and find random shit. Dragons would eat ma ass durin the day cuz of the no regen penalty. vampires are kinda lame in this game, but as u said for roleplay purposes it can be kinda fun, for a few hours
