Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter and miserly old moneylender, holds everything that embodies the joys and spirit of Christmas in contempt, retaining to himself and becoming nasty to individuals. Scrooge's buisness associate Jacob Marley has died and Scrooge is paying a man for his coffin. He pays him a rather small quantity and leaves. He walks throughout Victorian England, and as he passes persons by everyone turns into quiet and frightend. He walks into his location of buisness and slams the door shut. 7 Christmas Eve's later, he's still as bitter as he was prior to. He has an worker named Cratchit who's very poor and may barley afford foods for his family members. Scrooges nephew walks to the store and asks to join him for dinner at his house, scrooge offers him an unfriendly christmas hum-bug and tells him to depart. Closing time arrives and Cratchit leaves. Scrooge closes up shop and goes residence. That evening, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, who's now compelled to invest his afterlife carrying large chains forged from his own greedy techniques. Scrooge seems to be out the window and sees many more ghosts suffering the exact same fate. Marley warns Scrooge that he will suffer an even worse fate if he doesn't repent, and foretells that he might be haunted by three spirits which will assist information him. The 1st spirit, the Ghost of Christmas Previous, a small ghost produced of fire, exhibits Scrooge visions of his personal previous that take location on or around the Christmas season, reminding him of how he ended up the greedy man he's now. He had invested a lot of his childhood neglected by his father around the holidays at boarding school till he was last but not least introduced residence by his loving sister Fan, who died prematurely after giving birth to his nephew Fred. The ghost of christmas present is in there awaiting him. The Ghost of Christmas Current shows Scrooge the happiness of his fellow men on Christmas day. Amongst them are his nephew Fred, who playfully can make jokes with his household at Scrooge's expense, and Bob Cratchit and his loved ones, who're just barely ready to create do with what little pay Scrooge offers Cratchit. The Cratchits also tend to a sickly young son, Small Tim, whose dedication to the spirit of Christmas touches Scrooge, who is dismayed to discover from your spirit that he may not have much longer to reside. Prior to the spirit vanishes, it warns Scrooge concerning the evils of Ignorance and Want, displaying them as terrifying, uncivilized youngsters doomed to grow into savage, despicable individuals. The ghost then withers away into dust.
