The Renaissance Man, composed of two parts: the Renaissance, and the Man.

The Renaissance refers to a time of cultural movement that saw many revolutions in intellectual pursuit (thanks Wikipedia). It was a time of great change, of artistic explosion, and new perspectives. Capabilities were limitless to those who believed that "A man can do all things if he but wills them" - Leon Battista Alberti.

The Man is someone in a quest to be a real man -- not the macho man that people commonly think of -- but the new man. One who is constantly attempting to improve himself, building both confidence and humility. He understands that respect is earned, that being a gentleman is classy, and that a nice suit is essential to his wardrobe.

Together, the Renaissance Man -- a status that many will strive for but few will attain. I will be one of the few.
