A really fun game to play even tho its virtually impossible to finish as even if you cheat. You need to get the codes from the bartenders but also search everything so you get the right order to enter the codes (I think) into the bomb at the top. Just getting to the top floor takes a good 50-60 lives and then there is the clues gathering within the time limit.
Anyway, a nice game with big colourfull sprites and a lot of things to mess with. Like drinking makes you drunk (reversed stearing) for a while. Enemies get a lot more clever later on and you will need to jump a lot more. Cant jump in the elevators tho (and you will really need that to finish the game without cheating). Quite fun to play.

  • ooh i loved this game when i was young! :)

    can i download it somewhere?

  • @ellentjah Try google for cpc-power or TACGR ;)

  • I met one of the guys who made this, he said he got out of video games once the NES came out because it was too advanced

  • Thanks for letting me know. This game does seem quite advanced too tho. Definately a quite solid and well made game (no bugs like in many other games).

  • Well, i was the guy chaffel3 met, i assume. What i meant with my comment 'too advanced' was that the nice challenge to write games on machines like the amstrad was an engineering challenge. More sophisticated systems, like the nintendo, shifted this towards game design etc., which was not my main interest back then (we are talking about 1989...). Thanks for showing this old game on youTube! btw., i'm the 'Rolf',appearing in the starting screen ('your mission was planned by Bettina and Rolf' :-)

  • Hi Rolf. Ah yes i can imagine that Nintendo was more like a Sdk job on designing sprites and lvls, where as on the Amstrad you had to program EVERYTHING from scratch. Had to make even your own machine code to just draw a line as the hardware/firmware one was to slow. Then had to squeeze it all into the tiny available memory.

Anyways, thanks for a great and enjoyable game ;D

  • Ps. still some "old" geeks that hang out at cpczone & cpcwiki forums talking about how to best move that sprite and scrool that screen or just play some games :)
