When tackling your holiday shopping list at South Coast Plaza and needing a pick-me-up, skip your routine chain place and dine at the hands of celebrity chefs! That's right, Macy's has teamed up with three major celebrity chefs and chosen their home-store at Crystal Court as their FIRST "Signature Kitchen"... and the place serves up some signature good eats.

"I had the BBQ bacon burger and it was amazing" (Mary Castorena, Fullerton)

Whether you're in the mood for one of Marc Samuelson's burgers, Cat Cora's bar-b-que, or Nancy Silvertons La Brea Bakery favorites, you'll find something to your taste on this menu. If you're between meals and just need to feed your sweet tooth, grab a cupcake that needs no sprinkles. And this place serves up one of the freshest and healthiest kids menus in the mall.

(Cheryle Haley, Gen. Mgr, Macy's Signature Kitchen)
"Something that you can't get anywhere else would be the Marc Samuelson prime burger or the Marc burger. It's a meal you can't get anywhere else in Orange County. Same with the Cat Cora bar-b-que, you can't get that anywhere either."

If you work nearby, this is a great choice for a casual business lunch. Or grab dinner before tackling an evening of shopping or a show nearby. But don't dally, the restaurant closes an hour before the store.

Can't decide from all of the overwhelming great choices from these famous food chefs? Don't.

"The special offering that we'll have over the holiday season is our signature kitchen plate which is a sampling of different food items from all 3 menus. For the Cat Cora, we'll be featuring the vegetable soup with burn ends and homemade croutons, topped with a pesto swirl. From the Marc Samuelson, we'll be featuring the mini Kobe burger. From the Nancy Silverton menu, the Tuscan chicken salad. And each plate is topped with a mini red velvet cupcake." For 10 bucks including a drink, this will satisfy all five flavors on your palate AND your wallet

And if you're a fan of dipping sauces -- and who isn't -- don't pass by their specialty sauce bar and load up. You won't be alone taking some of each just to try... but you might need some more french fries to go with your sauce!

Also don't pass up their homemade pickles that come on most plates. These are truly tiny perfections. Midway between dill and butter, they're neither overwhelming nor sweet. The tragedy is people who throw them away...

The only criticism here is that sometimes the service can be painfully slow.
