The Tidewater Appalachian Trail Club, more commonly known as TATC, is one of 30 clubs that belong to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and that maintains the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia. We are dedicated to proper trail usage, safety, conservation, and outdoor stewardship.
The section of the AT that TATC maintains is located in and next to the Three Ridges Wilderness Area of Central Virginia. We also maintain the Mau-Har Trail, a side trail off of the AT, as well as the White Rock Falls Trail and several trails in the St. Marys Wilderness, located off of the BRP. TATC also helps maintain and construct trails and structures in local parks and wildlife areas in the local Tidewater area of Virginia and N.C. This includes volunteer work at FLSP, FCSP, SBNP, Chippokes Plantation SP, Merchants Mill SP, New Quarter Park, and at the FI, BB, and DS NWR areas.
