I have a feeling, that the new director that Midway just hired,is going to have a profound positive impact on Midway's band program. While Midway has consistently had a good band in the past, the program has not performed anywhere near their potential, given the resources and community support that the school attracts. There is no reason why they shouldn't compare to Dripping Springs,P.Hendrickson,P.Connally,Hays,etc on a regular basis.Let's hope they can regain their "edge" (esp.for the 5A future!)
No one cares anymore. Most of the people in the band , don't wanna practice at home or during rehearsal, always complaining about sectionals, or during marching seasons before or after school practice. We've lost most of our pride.
The band is definitely MUCH smaller than in the past, but probably in a rebuilding phase after getting a new director a couple of years ago.Sound is still clean (in general),and the guard looks to be heading in the right direction.Uniforms (especially pants) are starting to look a bit ragged.Music (IMO) needs to be a little more challenging for a school this size.Midway's marching program should be further advanced (to match the school's success in virtually everything else).Hope it can catch up.
I'm pleading the 5th on this one. I want to know what happened to the band program over the past few years? I marched in the Midway band from 1987-1990 and it appears they have completely lost their edge and competitiveness as well as their size. Sad to see a once quality band fall off so far.

That one Clarinet is horrible. I think is name is Charles or something. Bass Clarinets are rockin it though.
