I'm one weeks out from my hernia surgery and mine doesn't look right . It's too folded up , and very stiff around the area, like a rock underneath my skin. . Did yours change any or stay the same? Please let me know. Thanks. Alex

I thin this is some of the best examples of showing us (laymen) what a hernia is and how it is repaired. Your use of inside abdomen and outside the abdomen shots are great and allow us to see the cosmetic as well as the technical beauty of your operation. So many laparoscopic surgeons leave out the cosmetic shots of their work. It annoys me as a person who wants to see the results and determine if the work was worthy on the appearance levels.

I'm 20 years old.. I just found out I have a hernia.. I'm really scared... Should I get it surgically removed? I want to exercise and be fit and awesome but I think having this hernia will prevent that from happening... <:((

I have developed small bowel collapse due to a double hernia and may need this surgery as well. My belly looks swollen like the first pics. I have been exercising and noticed belly getting bigger instead of smaller with much pain and suffering.

What do they do with all that fatty tissue stuff that they ripped off from the abdo wall? Do they just leave it in the stomach? What about the mesh? Does that stay in there too?

It's not an alien! It's normal omental fat that will placed in abdonen, it's natural position. The mesh is placed in intraperitoneal position to close the defect
