@flyinglotusgalaxy What you say doesn't make sense. The Heaven's Gate people were good people, they were only certain that the world was coming to an end, and that by killing themselves the extra-terrestrials were coming to bring their souls. I think it's more like Hindley/Brady except they seem to ask for a ransom and are disappointed not to get it. It's a parody on cruelty, or it could be a comment on parenthood: the fact that people make kids almost as commodities to make their life happier.
