  • @tyrone121285 Haha, yes, you get what you pay for. But not in terms of performance obviously. You can look at lap times yourself. The Ford GT is my favorite car right behind the Viper so it's not like I have something against the car.

You're paying for a 3,400lb car with an engine with amazing potential, and amazing standing mile/roll racing platform.

The LS7 is meant to be an N/A engine, not boosted like the mod in the GT.

Look for the fastest stock FGT times you can find, see for yourself

  • @iPROFITDON Not that it matters but like I said previously the z06 weight's in at 3150lbs. The ford GT was 3400lbs. In the performance world and in racing you get what you pay for. For you to say a car at the time that was 70k was a better performance car than a 150k car is laughable. That's why the GT motor was capable of making three times the power of the LS7. Also I really wish people would stop saying the z06 outmatched the GT in 1/4 and on the track. That's really a driver thing.

  • @tyrone121285 How is it laughable? The Z06 matched the GT in terms of handling and out did it in the 1/4 mile for whatever reason. The newer Z06 would put it to shame, but that's not a fair comparison.

Go to they're top sports car? This 2013 GT500 will be fords top sports car, they don't make anything faster anymore aside from what, the SuperSnake? Feel it would seem logical to compare top tier to top tier, but in Ford's case that's not so.

Read the last line of my last comment again.

  • @iPROFITDON You said the GT fell short of z06 performance which is laughable. The only reason that car was so fast was because it was lighter than everything it went up against at 3150lbs.More importantly ford just needs to keep doing what there doing because anytime your rival has to go to there top sports car to race your muscle car you must be doing something right. Mustang wasn't born battling the vette chevy made it that way.

  • @tyrone121285 I know that? I never said the LS7 could handle the same amount of power as the 5.4 in the GT, only engine I've seen that can outdo that is the Vipers

I See Evan's fastest time as a 10.87 in a SuperSnake on slicks. Slower than a Stock ZR1s record on stock rubber and Z06 on radials (not slicks). I'm not sure what that proves.

Ford needs to come out with a GT replacement to handle the Corvettes while the GT500 battles the ZL1.

  • @iPROFITDON Are you joking a z06 would grenade it's block if you tried to push one where the ford gt's 5.4 would go performance wise. Also Evan Smith a PROFESSIONAL ex pro stock racer ran 11.00 flat twice on factory tires in a supersnake I'm sure if you email mm&ff they will tell you all about it. This is also the same guy who produced the fastest time ever for a stock ls1 camaro in case you don't believe it.

  • @stratdude83 No sir, up until the zl1, that was the maro. Even then, the new gt500's getting several new handling improvements as well as the new engine, so basically, goodbye zl1.

  • @ss10ist Motortrend (or someone) put out a video of a guy running a 12.1 and saying a good driver should be able to 11's stock at the strip.

  • the mustang is all horsepower and no suspension...off the line its wheel hopping into the next county

  • I eat mustang GTs new and old in my 97 camaro z28
