This is a startup of my Jeep after I installed the Flex-a-lite electric fan to replace the mechanical clutch fan. Just wanted to see with the limited amount of space between fan backing and bolts when the vehicle is turned over how much the engine moves.

  • NemanjaGuitar - the engine feels a bit quicker to spinup. It would be very little difference in hp/torque. But the big difference will be noticed at highway speed when the electric fan doesnt need to run and ur not using a mechanical fan to pull airr thats already flowing.

  • Ive since changed it around and use a single speed fan from a older FORD Taurus using a SPAL controller. It works beautifully now. I should post a video of it now.

  • hey, did you notice any increase in hp/torque?

Did you mpg get any better after this?

I'm thinking about doing the same thing.

    Thanks,

  • @NemanjaGuitar

I didn't notice a difference in MPG. I liked how much quieter it was at startup and knowing my engine wasn't pushing air when at highway speeds since that's pointless.

  • Yes it does. With some weather stripping to seal around the radiator to ensure proper pulling of air she is staying very cool.
