Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Disney's Aladdin for the Sega Genesis by Virgin Interactive. One of many games based on the animated film, the Genesis version stands out with graphics and cel animation that looks straight out of the cartoon, and plenty of quality of side scrolling platform action to complement it. With the "help" of Abu and the Genie, you can control your favorite acrobatic scimitar swinging street rat in a glorious 16-bit quest to rescue Princess Jasmine from Jafar. This review features Disney's Aladdin gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Kevin.

  • It's a really good game, but damn, it's hard as fuck

  • Far better and more challenging than the generic SNES version. SNES do has better colours though, I admit...

  • Nostalgia makes me like the SNES version better.

  • Notable fact: This game was develop by the same guy who will later go on to form Shiny Entertainment to develop games like "Earthworm Jim", "MDK" "Wild 9" and "Messiah."

  • The escape.... that level made by THUMBS BLEED.....

  • I own this on both SNES and Mega Drive, and the SNES version might look a little better, but it sure as shit doesnt play as smooth or as good.

  • I own the GameBoy version, which is a port of the NES version, which is a port of the Genesis version.

  • SNES had the better final Jaffar fight.

  • Definitely the better version. Played this one all the time. Played the shit out of it.

  • I loved this game so much! What an awesome Genesis game!

  • Remember this from back in the day. The game over screen with Jafar's face scared the hell out of me for some reason

  • This one feels more like it was a adult Disney game when compared to SNES.
