Watermelon is a wonderful alkaline food, especially locally grown and in season.
Advocates of proper food combining recommend eating fruit by itself on an empty stomach. Weight loss, pH balance, improved digestion are some of the benefits listed.

  • Nice one chrome dome

  • Check out Harvey Diamond on You Tube. He's the guru on food combining. He is on face book too. Lots of info there.

  • Jeff, I think that you are more of a "researcher wantabee" lol. You need to go back and correct this video. You state to eat the fruit in the morning, and eat something "more nourishing" later. It is a common fact that there is no food "more" nourishing the fruit, other than mother's milk....FYI

  • I eat three meals per day. One of those meals is fruit and fruit alone. Sometimes the fruit meal is breakfast, sometimes lunch, and sometimes dinner.... I have more energy, more regular, and it feels great.

  • i have a steak with a beer for breakfast .ummm is heaven.nothing wrong with that

  • its got sugar in? so its acidic ish, its got a pretty high water content so it kinda makes it neutral i think,

  • yeah i have seen it more acidic on some charts too...??? fruit in the morning is awesome cos its so hydrating after all those hours of dehydration/sweating etc

  • most charts have it as highly alkaline. its up there with lemons
