so im thinking about joining this and i was wondering what all goes on at this.... "fine" institute

@G60ed77 ROTC training is about half-speed real Army training. Half-speed real Army training is not hard by itself, but imagine trying to do it while maintaining a 3.5 GPA...very very difficult.

You guys need more training. Just a few quick observations of the fundamentals. Failure to duck below windows and failure to jump over basement windows and loopholes. You guys perform a "I'm high and your low" and the team quickly comes running out at the same time. Did not leave any time for you guys to engage or provide accurate cover if there was a threat in order to allow them to pass. The Soldier running down the alley alone and then turns the corner without pieing it first.

Parents teach your children the Constitution. Especially if they are military and swore an oath to it. Otherwise, you may find them confiscating your guns someday.

@revolver1750 revolver i dont even believe in the academies man they are political drop off zone or garbage cans
-
@ninjatit yeah, thats what forbes rated VMI. Another piec of info i found out is VMI has something like 98% of their faculty holds Phds while the academys is much lower because they can only higher within the Military. West Point only like 50%.

It's "Corps" gentlemen. Spell check and doing your homework goes a long way.

Well I meant what I said about being glad you found a place that best suits you, being somewhere you don't like or isn't living up to what you wanted is frustrating. I think each school has its own unique traditions that really set it apart in unique ways but ultimately it all boils down to the same type of experience. People argue all day about the details of how hard or easy it was but ultimately most options you choose will be challenging.

@2011VMICadet No it is not a bad time to inform me of this as I said earlier Norwich just suites me yes I have attended an open house about a year ago and im pretty sure international studies is different because Norwich also offers that as well. And its not only VMI that has its traditions every military college/academy does and like VMI you have to dig down and wait it out to fully understand them I still have the upmost respect for you and all other cadets from rival schools because we are

I'm glad you found a school that suites your desires, that's really what it's all about. I guess now would be a bad time to inform you we do in fact have political science here. Oh well. Of course VMI calls it "international studies," but it's poly sci alright. VMI does a lot of things differently compared to most schools, it's unfortunate but you really have to pry deep into the Institute to fully understand it. Did you attend an open house?
@G60ed77
It's amusing to me that you clearly have no concept of Army ROTC operations... We are not about to deploy. As hard as it may be, keep in mind that we are:
1) Doing full-time college classes
2) Are severely underfunded (that's an understatement)
3) Only get so many days to actually do any training
4) Don't think we are the coolest thing since sliced bread.
We know it's not pre-deployment, active duty type training, all you are doing is being Mr. Obvious. Thanks.

VMI actually was rated a better liberal arts college then the coast guard academy, kings point, and air force academy
