but when grabbing press square as fast as you can to shoot like crazy

When the savior punches you use the devil bringer against his punch (normal circle NOT R1) and the old dude will jump out with his guard down then you are free to grab him.

also when grabbing with the devil trigger press square and you will shoot him at the same time so that means grab + shoot in one grab it increases your damage quite a bit :)
