Ironic that you call pure self-preservation a typical republican tactic. I say this because the Democrats just rammed through a health care bill that no one was allowed to read, was one of the most partisan pieces of legislation in history,and that they are now trying to intensify through reconciliation. Is it sound politics to lie about a bill, saying that it needs to go in effect immediately, and then stipulating in the bill that most of it's benefits will not be available for another 4years?
