Whirlwind was a steel coaster almost 50 feet high that had 2 corkscrews. It was a very short ride. It was located right next to the Flyer.

I remember going to Knoebels when I was 4 years old. I remember the ride on the Flyer it is such a great ride. I remember going on I think it is called the Roto Jets or something and of course the Paratrooper. What a great classic park better than Dorney and Hershey I will bring my children to Knoebels I go every single year and always still enjoy myself it brings out the kid in me. I can't wait for Flying Turns to be completed and I can't wait to ride it ! I am so excited to go to KNOEBELS.

@chris921973 The old Ferris wheel was located in the area where the Italian Trapeze now stands if I remember correctly. It was tiny compared to the current wheel which is 110 feet tall, the tallest in Pennsylvania. If my memory is correct, the Ferris wheel in this video had metal "screens" installed on the sides of the chairs at some point to prevent people from sticking their arms out the sides.
what ride was that at 1:06 ????

That was the Jet Star. Purchased from Coney Island NY in 1977, when the ride was only a year old. It was replaced by the Whirlwind in 1993 and sent to Wildwood NJ. I don't think the Jet Star is in NJ anymore.

One question for you. Do you remember the path old smokey used to take? I know it was rerouted at some point.

Ole Smokey had a loop between the Grand Carousel and the Roaring Creek Saloon. I think the people boarded on the loop. There was no station or a line area.

most days i work on the hand cars. 1:57 that clips is of the 3 cars coming around the last turn and down the straightaway. the turn right there at the tree is the top of a hill that most children get stuck at... if i can see them good enough i could tell you which cars they were riding in. in order first to last car 7, 2, and i believe 5, but im not quite sure.

If you notice in the back ground, you can see old smokey and the pony rides. Old smoke was relocated and the pony rides closed shortly after. Also, there was a large giraffe (not shown) which was a height gauge. If you fit under the giraffe, you were allowed on the hand cars.
