I think this has just killed my love of the Germs. Shane West = actor, not punk. And the fact that he was asked on tour with the legit band, makes me rage - at least they finally realized he isn't very good, only AFTER he preformed with them.

I never claimed to be an alleged "hardcore germ fan". The point I wanted to make was Shane West was the wrong actor choice for the film. The band naively toured with him (after the movie), and they were incredibly disappointed with his performance on stage (and they let it be known). It's a personal opinion, and there is no need to get overly upset.

Shane West is performing as the Germs singer when they performe live. As i'm writing.

Haven't seen the picture yet, but I was apprehensive when I heard Shane West was playing Darby. Judging by the trailer, he's spot on. . .especially the scene where he's yelling into the mic. It's spot-on with the footage from the old documentary 'Decline of the Western Civilization'. It would be interesting if they explored his childhood more and his involvement with the alternative high-school scientology people. ..but I doubt they get into that.
