First we shoot the Detroit side, then over the bridge to the Windsor side. A roadrailer flashes by after a CN auto-rack train at dusk. More Santa Fe GP-60M's being delivered by CP, and the last shot is the NS barge taking "excess height" cars across the river. Since then they have enlarged the tunnel to handle these cars and the barge traffic has come to an end.

  • Excellent vid! Very good video quality too! If you have any more Windsor area railfan vids of that vintage I would LOVE to see them!

  • Thats it for Windsor area in my collection, but thanks for your interest and nice comments! Dean H.

  • Those Santa Fe GP60B's look so clean they could almost be models! Nice video.

  • You got that right! They havent even recieved their first tank of fuel yet! Spotless!

  • Great consists - where's the graffiti? LOL! Hadn't become the thing to do yet, I guess. Love that barge, too. Great video! Thanks for posting!

  • Glad you liked it! I have not been back there since 1991, and would not dare ( Detroit side ) Oh, that bit in the beginning with the barge was not suppose to be there, I am new at editing.... Thanks for over looking that flaw! Dean H.

  • ...city-side or the country-side of the tunnel?! Which to choose? Gonna have to Google Earth th' tunnel...great video.

  • what a fantastic video! love the older equipment- grew up with that LOL- nice SOO and CN trains! nice to see the ol' barge too!

  • @RailfanJames wasnt it C424, i could be wrong

  • I like the caboose at 4:17

  • @floydfanTN Well the CP Alco's were pretty beat to hell at the end, probably like most locomotives needed some new paint. IIRC a few got some just before retirement. There are still 4-5 CP Alcos wondering around on shortlines in CP Paint to this day.

  • @RailfanJames What happened to it?

  • @floydfanTN CP had their Alcos on the roster up until a few years ago. I forget their designation.. I wanna say C636.

  • @RailfanJames I was referring to the Pizza-Faced Alco in front of it.

  • @floydfanTN That is one of the infamous MPI/Morrison Knudson Rebuilds. Former EMD SD45's IIRC.
