In the first of our introductory topics on the Laws of the Game, today's seminar is Flag Signals 101.

  • @phobal You're right. He does have the flag in the L hand, as if he were anticipating that the ball was going to go back upfield. He seems to be ball-watching, which is understandable in such a highly contentious situation down in the corner. If his training is good, he'll go back and practice that hand switch...

  • @catspjs01 it's not very hard to switch hands and signal rapidly, unless going sloooooow is difficult. he is holding it in the wrong hand to begin with: when in the penalty area, the flag should be in the R hand which allows for a quick corner, goal kick, offensive throw in, and offside signals. shit happens and this is not a big deal (as he recovered very nicely and the right call was eventually made) but directions from the middle to his ARs should always emphasize slooooow, correct signals
