hot patch works great....especially if you don't have exactly the same thickness as sheetrock on wall..thicker or thinner doesn't matter. buttering edges of sheetrock will give even more strength to the patch.

@kickback14 No not really, if you mud/paint correctly the only way you would dent the drywall in is if you hit it rather hard. If you used the paper peel method anyway.

this is a crap way thatl never bee strong enough thats cowboy! youd use a 2 x 1 timber slightly longer than the hole and place it behind the plasterboard on the wall with slight difficulty. and screw it in place then screw the plasterboard patch to the 2x1 timber. jesus
