Decision Time - Short Movie by Zayd Depaor

This is my fourth short movie, the others being 'Surface Blur - Jungfrau 2.2 Director's Cut', 'Inspired Thought' & 'Men of Convention'. I had the idea for 'Decision Time' a few months ago but didn't get round to shooting it. The original plan was to enter it into the Depict film competition, but as soon as I started looking at the task of cutting it down to size with only a few hours left before the deadline, I decided it was better to make the film I wanted and forget the film competition.

I filmed this quickly with no planning or assistance with the understanding I would have to edit and send it within a few hours. If I had known I was not going to enter it into the competition (which has a time limit of 90secs) I would have shot more scenes and made each scene shorter. Would have delivered my lines again also and would have spent a bit more time on a few of the camera angles.

This was shot entirely with two standard definition consumer camcorders the Canon FS200 & Panasonic SDR S50. The editing was all done on Opensource free software using the Linux Operating System (Mint/Ubuntu). The Video Editor used was Kdenlive.

I liked some of the shots in this and the general idea, well acted but the scenes were a bit long. I like the way you do your credits.

@FilmAnalytics If I had the time I would have shot the delivery of one of my lines again and I would have shortened most of the scenes, they did drag. One problem is that I had decided to use this music to go with the flow of the whole film, this means I needed to shoot more scenes of shorter length but didn't have time as was going to enter it into a festival.But then I abandoned the festival. I had intended to make it my shortest film but ended up being my longest.

@yemekoom No pasta takes a bit longer than that, could have made sardines on toast though...from a tin
