My husband is in the Air Force and we are getting stationed in Shreveport Louisiana. I am upset! But, thanks for posting this it made me feel a little better. :0) Still sad though, but it will get better in time.

Don't fret! Admittedly, Louisiana is not Colorado ( I once lived in Boulder),...but it is a pretty decent place actually. Do not believe the negative folks. Barksdale is a nice base and Shreveport/Bossier has a lot to offer for an area this size. We have a mix of everything here. Some bad,.. but mostly good. Anyone who has not lived here in the last 10-20 years has out of date info. Please seek out what this area has to offer once y'all arrive. Some locals downtalk S'port. Don't believe it all.

I can tell that you take pride in Shreveport, Louisiana :-) I would like to see downtown grow with more buildings.

Well, I left for about 10 years. I came back recently and people always ask why i would return. There is some negativity that floats around about shreveport. I am just trying to show some of the good. OVERALL,,,this is a GREAT place to live. (and I have lived MANY places to compare it to)
