"Dismissive" of what? The allies burning German civilians in engineered firestorms? You bet he was. Or did you expect him to say "good job, guys!"? As un-saintly as he was, nevertheless no fool to hurt his public image by being this cynical.
And, let's be realistic, it's a big IF whether the Allies would have opened the 2d ground front anyway if USSR, not Germany ended up being the loser by 1943.

Hitler had mad episodes - as when he ordered the destruction of Germany, because it had "failed him". But he stayed super-cunning in protecting his own skin! With Himmler given life & death over Wehrmach personnel - of all ranks, & Goebbels spouting clever lies & diversions, the leaders group held on to power & sent party people & funds to S.A. so the Aryan heresy could rise again - with purified "stock".

The comment on Hitler is excessive. Please watch the Interview with Traudl Junge, his secretary- also watch DOWNFALL the 2004 film 'Der Untergang' Hitler's maddness would be an excuse- Hitler knew until the bitter end, exactly what he was doing as the Fuehrer of the Reich.
