Try making your GM7 using strings high E through D (respectively, E/2nd, B/3rd, G/4th and D/5th fret w/thumb over low E @ 2nd fret) -- this sounds a LOT better. The lead is pretty simple -- I'm surprised you didn't even come close. I'd give your effort a D+ to C-. The thought balloons are as cheesy as the performance. Practice and ditch the balloons.

if you watch accurately the video you can see that sometimes i play the Gmaj7 in the way you mentioned.. (I am the one on the left) I am surprised someone suggest me to play that chord in a different way, instead of criticize my ugly voice and my awful solo. :-)
