those $100-$200 glasses aren't exactly cheap when you need a pair for everybody in your family, that can easily double the cost of having the tv for large families

the 3D glasses that work with non 3D screens have a pretty crappy 3D effect, kind like the 3DS where it add a slight depth but doesn't appear to come out of the screen

@vgking699 what are you talking about? haven't you ever heard of "stereoscopic" 3d? it halves the moniters refrsh rate, turning most plasmas into a 3D with 300hz per second of heach frame. LCD and LEDs normally have 30-120Hz per frame. i have no idea what you mean 1080p is SD resolution, 1080p doesnt magically turn into 360p when its made 3D. and you are completly wrong on the 3d aspect. you can buy glasses for 100-200$ that can be used with any LCD/LED/Plasma monitor of ANY resolution.

3D is very much just a gimmick

especially on computer where you need a 4k resolution screen to have 3D content still be 1080p quality, other wise the 3d content is only is SD resolution

and it will be decades before we see a laptop or desktop with a 4k screen thats 3D capable for less than $3000

I agree with Chris. Wonder what ever happened to Virtual Reality? I remember the series VR5. What's the big deal about 3D. Virtual Reality, now that's something.
