NE Salem home fire displaces fifth local family in three days

Volunteers with the American Red Cross Willamette Chapter responded to the scene of a house fire this afternoon in the 1100 block of Madison Street NE, Salem. A family of six was displaced due to smoke and utility damage. Two members of the family were out of town when the fire occurred. No one was injured. Four of the family members were provided with shelter, food, clothing and emotional support.

This is the fifth Salem family to be given Red Cross assistance in three days due to fire.
