It's not every day that you see a carbon road bike being used as a stunt machine - hopping over boulders at the beach and styling it up at the skate park.

British MTB trials legend Martyn Ashton does just that and more in this video, The BikeRadar Roadie.

The edit sees Mountain Biking Hall of Fame member Ashton hit the tarmac on his carbon Raleigh Avanti Team on his way to the UK's premier bike festival, BikeRadar Live - which took place on 10-11 July 2010.

    The point is to showcase how Mr. Ashton can apply moutnain biking skills and tricks to a road bike and pushing it's physical limits.

    I'm pretty sure things were broken during the multiple tries for various parts of the video.

    What is the point in going on the rocks with this bike? I went on a rocky trail and well I got a flat tire with my road bike. What kind of tires do you have and also rims they must be really sturdy for this type of bike...
