We say that we have improved - yet human genocide, human slavery, child labor, abuses of all kinds, war, famine are now more widespread than ever.
Where is the improvement in all of this? Technology, yes we are more advanced. But as a human race, it seems we are going backwards, degenerating.
Can we change? Yes we can. Internally. By overcoming our defects: greed, lust, pride, sloth, gluttony, acedia, envy, vengeance, wrath etc..
And replacing them with higher values: love, humility, respect ..
