Most people do not have After Effects. It's a much higher-end tool. Studio is something that you can get started with editing video, stills, burning DVDs, posting videos to YouTube and more all for under $100. You can always move up to Adobe's Creative Suite but it is a tough place for a first time editor to start.

The easiest way to do chromakey is with an effect on Adobe After Effects CS3 called Keylight 1.2

u can do this in movie maker as well but it takes a while for the background to show up in ur movie. lol

When I last tried Movie Maker, Chromakeying was not a feature. I have not used it in a very long time.

Yes, Final Cut Pro and Xpress have this feature built-in. iMovie used to need a third-party plug-in that you would purchase. I am not sure about the latest version. The latest version of Adobe Premiere also chromakeys just like the version for Windows.

Haven't seen or used Vegas in a very long time. Last time I did, I did not think that it was any easier to use. Studio sells way more copies that Vegas but most video editing products can do chromakeying now.
