Gap is crap, believe the Bible or don't.

@bondagebreaker7 OH MY GOODNESS THE UNIVERSE WAS BIG DENSE BALL OF ENERGY THAT EXPLODED AND LOGICALLY ARRANGED ITSELF INTO IT'S PRESENT GROWING FORM - THIS IS THE DUMBEST THING THAT HAS EVEN BEEN THEORIZED!

OH MY GOODNESS THE UNIVERSE WAS SUBMERGED IN WATER - THIS IS THE DUMBEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD!

In genesis 1:2 (the words without form and void) in hebrew are bohu and tohu. They are very strong words that denote CATASTROPHE!

@emedina73 that's what the current meaning is but before some time in I believe the 1800s the primary definition was simply to fill

The heavns of old were the pre flood era. The canopy of water that God prepared in the beginning was released along with the founttains of the deep, and this would effect the sunlight and moon light and its effect on the earth. So they are old heavens only in the respect to the release of the canopy of water. They did not exist prior to Gen 1:2
@worddigger So because I disagree with you, you think I am a fool and hate knowledge. I have studied the creation model as well as the gap theory. I choose not to compromise God's word just to fit a secular belief. God is the Biblical Authority above all. If he said it, I believe it! However I also love science and see the dating methods and notice the discrepancies between the dating methods and how the PHD Archeologists disagree. I happen to choose the side of the Lord & take his word for it.

@devilbusters No, I did not say that; I'm telling you what Wisdom says. I'm in agreement with your attitude, but if you take the Lord's Word for something, be sure and take all of it, else you may overlook something. Nuff said!

@worddigger It makes much more sense that fallible man has not understood the dating methods and the Earth is not as old as mankind thinks. Would God really have re-created a world that left behind Satan and evil demons and then at it's completion called it "GOOD"? What is perfect about a world that has Satan already here? IF there would have been this supposed gap why would God just allude to it in scripture rather than just say it outright. He has never held back anything about Noah's flood.

@devilbusters Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? ( Proverbs 1:20-22 )

Come on man, if this gap were to have existed God would have told us so. You are having to inject to many particles of scriptures to back this theory up. It's like you took the bible and cut it into pieces and put it back together to fit your billions of years theory. Why do we think that we have to agree with secular science? Friendship with this world is emnity between God and man.

@devilbusters Would the Lord God make all things for the first time only about 6,000 years ago and then deliberately formulate the laws of physics and chemistry to give it all a false appearance of ancient age when put to the test? Absolutely not! That would make God a liar in both Word and deed.
