Change My Heart Oh God

A change of heart is one of the essential elements of being a Christian.

The Bible teaches that the heart of man deceitful and wicked. Modern society and human history seem to show that assessment to be accurate!

The heart of man is inclined to sin. To sin is to transgress, or violate, God's commandments: love and worship only Him, don't use His name in vain, honor your parents, don't lie, steal, commit adultery, covet others' goods, etc.

Everyone, including you, if honest, surely must admit to violating God's commandments in your life. And that leaves us, according to the Bible, hopelessly facing His holy wrath.

But God's love for this world, even though it walks away from Him and not according to His commandments, is so deep that He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice for our sins. That is, Jesus received in His death the wrath of God FOR US. He committed no sin, yet suffered and died as a sinner, so that you and I could receive, by faith, His righteousness, and stand justified before God.

How is this received? I'm glad you asked!!!

You must repent. That is, change your mind, humbly acknowledge that indeed you have sinned, that it matters, that it keeps you apart from God, and turn from your sinning. Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that He rose from the dead, exactly as the Bible says. He will forgive you, bless you with everalsting life, and yes, CHANGE YOUR HEART forever.

Repent, trust in Jesus Christ, and be saved. Be baptized, join up with a good Bible-teaching church, and learn to follow our wonderful Lord and Savior.
