This argument is stupid. Original timeline, ship built in space. New timeline, preparing for War, Romulan infiltration, access to future technology, *everything* is different, the tech of the ship, where it was built, everything changes. You might not LIKE the new movie, but to argue canon before and after a major *timeline* rewrite with huge butterfly-effects, just makes no sense.

@deepspire Everything I mentioned was onscreen, in episodes written by Roddenberry. Without him, Trek would not have even existed to BE 'successful'.

@Idazmi7 Canon is only what appeared on TV or on screen. Nothing else. Furthermore, Star Trek was successful in spite of Rottenburied, not because of him.
