I went metal detecting in another soy bean field today. There had been a one room schoolhouse there 60 years ago. I found lots of big iron pieces. I also found my first Barber half (1907), my first Indian head pennies (1887 & 1889) and two wheat pennies (1910 & 1941), Also found was a small Princess Pat lipstick from 1920-1940.
I was using my Minelab E-Trac in 2 tone ferrous, all metal. I knew that the tin and iron were junk before I dug them but I was curious. The junk weighed almost 10 pounds.
I had a great time today. The hunt took about 4 hours. I covered about 100' x 100'.
the little piece with carving on it is a partial crotal bell...they are rare to find whole

Wow you found some real nice things. Great Barber half that would have made my day alone. That curved piece you found looks like part of a sleigh or crotal bell. HH
