  • Surely we can't use Old Testament examples as a model for the American Revolution? Surely some Roman Emperors were tyrants as well, but the early Christians did not stand up to them with force.

Civili disobedience? Maybe, where necessary. But for anything more, you'd better be sure it is directly at the instigation of God. Can we say that about America?

  • It doesn't say submit yourselves to a corrupted government

  • Slavery, Civil Rights?

  • @78Divini So I take it you don't believe in the divine inspiration of the Bible?

  • When Paul wrote Romans, he was not all there. The opening of Romans talks about all the sins and abominations that mankind can do or does, and Paul complains heavily telling them they are wrong. Then Paul drops this, and talks heavily about how a Christian should never judge at all! Paul is super hard in the next chapters about those who judge others, and what's more! Later Paul says that anyone who claims another person is going to hell, or going to heaven, is WRONG!
