    lots of artists that we revere now went where the money was. in the olden days they were prancing around in royal atmospheres with rulers as patrons. I wonder how mankind will react to Hirst's works in a 100 years or so - does it still matter that Hirst was either a 'twat' or an honoust simpleton (other options being out of the question)? the only valid critique here is that art's popularity too often has to do with publicity (in this case, pretty bad publicity - I friggin' can't stand Bono).
