Skrillex-My Chocolate Jumping Spider

This is Skrillex, she rested under my hand for a while, so I decided to get the camcorder before I got her active. When the video first starts, she is still in what I call a "spider sleep". But once I move my finger, she becomes active and starts to walk around. With the human eye, she is the same color as an oreo cookie, but when zoomed in, some extra colors show up on her that we can't see with our eyes alone. I believe she is some type of Habronattus Jumping Spider going by the way she looks from the side view. She resembles Salti, my Habronattus Jumping spider that I have some videos of, it's the coloration that is so different.

Also, @ 2:13, vreat face shot & shot of palps. I wonder at the shape of the last joint. If is a juvie, may also be male? So hard with so little contrast. =)

@SisterOfKarn I still have this spider and I believe it's a female. It should have molted by now if it's a juvie or maybe it's getting close to a molt. Just doesn't really show any signs of a molt. I only wished I could find this particular species in the spider guides. It may be in the habronattus group, but I'm not even close to being sure of that yet.

@cheshirebaby520 I found this one in a blanket that someone threw on the ground outside. The blanket had been there for a while, so I guess the spider was making it her home. Good thing I found her or she would have been thrown in the dumpster.

aww i find these spiders, or i guess they find me, in the shower alot! they like to sit on the tops of the shampoo bottles. I always catch and release them, they are alot of fun to handle!

Did u ever get a positive id? Definitely a poss Habro, but also may be a juvie - any molts since this givin more marking details?

@Torn80cj Poor little girl. I am glad you found her too! A dumpster is no place for a pretty spider like that.
