@Lachlant1984 I did. I, as a collector, wanted all the original seals never cut. Luckily, he was only held on by some twisted ties, which in the end were put back on and he was like he never came out. The original stock batteries were taped onto the back.

you might want to remove the batteries if you're not going to use it if you want to keep it in good shape to prevent the batteries from leaking and damaging the toy. That pull string vibrating feature thing is kind of interesting in a battery operated toy like that, perhaps the 'singing' feature requires the batteries and perhaps it's not a mechanical music box like old pull string musical toys.
