  • All right-wing conservative Republicans have the same stupid, irrational response:

    Go live in Iran.

  • One day, soon, Americans will be subject to the rule of international law. I'm working towards that day.

  • This guys voice resonates to the pitch of a Tokyo Rose with a twist of Mata Hari thrown in. Surly a dangerous combination of thinking that has its genesis in Nazi appeasement thinking. That is problem with Chomsky.

  • @kokopelli314 good luck to u. international law is Not applied. the UN is as corrupt as any organisation. Corrupt with capitals. the UN is governed on 1 hand by western state terrorists (US) & on the other eastern terrorists (the OIC), resulting in the greatest double standards & hypocrisy. if u want to see to what level this hypocrisy stands, check out UN Watch

  • @gangster3591 We have also noticed how it doesn't do much about the brutality of it's friend Israel against the Palestinians. It in fact provides it with all of the arms necessary to crush any uprising by the Palestinians while it keeps grabing and stealing their lands.

  • @gangster3591 furthermore, how come they let Saddam stay there for so long, or Mohamar Khadaffi, or ....... These people were there for decades and the US did little or nothing. As I say, I am very ignorant but Mr Chomsky could give you a very long list of attrocities that the US did nothing to stop and that is what I meant when I said the US had no interest in putting an end to brutal regimes; not unless their interests or their security where at risk or seemed to be so.

  • @gangster3591 America fights where she can win ? like Viet Nam you mean ? I am no where near as informed as Mr Chomsky but the US often suported and installed dictators in countries that would not have had a fighting chance against it. It also allowed others to go on unchecked because it had no selfish interests in the region. Check out Confessions of an economic hit man for one part of the story. The US inntervenes when it has an interest or when it is afraid. Those are the motivators.

  • @claudelebel55 .."the US has no interest in changing brutal regimes. What is it doing about North Korea"?

What do you propose Mr Lebel, an invasion or attack that would inflame the entire region, possibly igniting a nuclear war with China? If you had sense you would understand that America fights where she can win, not where she is likely to lose. America cannot solve the problems of every nation or region. Nor should she try.

Grow up and get a proper education

  • @TheJuggtron .."[sarcasm]yes,because the US would never harm the people of another nation to achieve political or business ends.[/sarcasm]" ..nonsense rhetoric

USA is the most benign and generous superpower in history. Don't forget it

    "Shock and Awe is terrorism"?

Terrorism: premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents.

"US 'Capitalism/Democracy' is Fascism"? yeah, sure (bonehead)

  • @gangster3591 [sarcasm]yes, because the USA would never do anything harmful to the people of another nation to achieve political or business ends.[/sarcasm]

Shock and Awe is terrorism-no other way about it.Current US 'Capitalism/Democracy' is Fascism (business and political powers with the same goal).

Oh, and just because he is a linguist, doesn't disqualify him from expressing a considered opinion that is a hell of alot more constructive(not to mention introspective) than your name calling rant.
