Look, what happened here is dirt simple. North Korea announced that they were going to launch a satellite into orbit. A few days later, they launched a satellite into orbit (despite failing to control its orientation). The rest is just a bunch of Keystone Cops running around in Washington, Seoul, and their respective press bureaus.

They didn't launch the rocket "without warning." Notice was given worldwide several days in advance, including the projected flight path and was reported in Western media.

then bring both down in one place or several, or perhaps this nuke test buisness is a distraction to take our I off the real threat, the satellite. up there for better control of the ready to launch rocket or a secret safe place to hide a nuke?

And now what? The new analyst speculations are supposed to impress me after the previous analyst speculations were wrong? I didn't expect them to just say "we screwed up." They have their jobs to think about.

I guess you should go tell that to the media who reported that the international community wasn't quite expecting it. Do you read?
