Martyrs is a GREAT MOVIE ! .
-
What do you think of Martrys?
-
Did the animal killing grossed you out with that live turtle being butchered?
-
Cannibal Holocaust is shit, too much commercial, this movie explores more than show gore fx.
-
This track makes me feel more sorry than scared, and it waqs the edge and the beauty of the film. Hence the choice of Spinell I guess.

@Johnlindsey289 It kind of grossed me out, but i had already seen movies just as gory. It did make me feel very dirty and in need of a very long shower though. lol. I don't think it's really any more shocking than ISOYG or LHOTL myself though. Cannibal Holocaust is much more shocking than all of them to me. I've seen Martyrs as well as Inside. Okay movies, but not really faves of mine.

Did this made you sick as a kid? this has been one of my favorite slasher movies ever and still shocking to this day. This movie is more shocking than Last House on The Left or I Spit on Your Grave. If you liked this one, check out Martyrs.

Chilling score. The opening credits with Zito in his room, his one of my favorite scenes in this movie. Highly underrated actor. Maniac wasn't just another slasher, it was a virtuoso performance by Spinell, the best of his career. Just wish he had more notable roles in his reputore.

I dunno, I wasn't talking about wars, I was talking about how both films are alike and different. Maniac and Hostel are both dark films, I can tell that, but Hostel was just too messy; Maniac, however, despite a decent body count, also concentrates on the killer himself and the suffering he goes through.

@Johnlindsey289 I saw this for the first time when i was about 10 and it shocked me as well, and i thought it had some of Savini's best and most realistic gore effects work of all time. A very gritty, gut wrenching film that Rob's movies owe themselves to especially.
Well, I've only seen it on a DVD and the transfer was exceptionally good on that. But looking at the original trailers, you can feel the scuzziness coming off the screen.
Joe Spinell did a great job of making Zito into a more complex character than he might have been and the subway chase scene is a minor classic - brilliantly acted (the nurse got all the emotions of fear, relief and terror over excellently), well shot and, once again, superbly scored.

oh yeah. Hostel is just in for the gore. it lacks solidity. as for Maniac. it's pure terror, both bodily and mentally.
