  • I don't know why people kept laughing. It's nice virtuoso stuff, but not meant for a joke. I mean, it's not too deep, but i don't think he was trying to be a comedian.

  • I'm in the back of the viola section here and I can tell you that during this encore not a single sound was audible in a 3,000 seat sold-out auditorium except that violin. Rapt attention from the entire audience. It was definitely something special. I only grieve that I was not a student during Gingold's day. Bell's playing here was breathtaking in person, with out a doubt.
