@lthom33 We should shame laziness, teen pregnancy, shiftlessness and wasting your life away with your hand out for whatever society can supply. We, my friend are society, we are the people. And nowhere in the Constitution, which is what delegates power to the Feds, does it say a poor man can enslave me to serve him. That is our biggest problem right now, the sense of entitlement of some people. We are guaranteed opportunity, not results. Free markets require efficiency, governments do not.

@lthom33 You are basically saying that by my very existence, my attitude toward getting ahead and the success that I work extremely hard for, that I owe something to people who by their existence do none of the above. Why do I pull the wagon while they get to ride in it. What would happen If we all behaved as the poor do? The system would collapse. Why do they get a free pass, etc. While I do not? Is it because I am motivated? I do the right thing? Dude, that is far from fair.

@lthom33 Insane? The richest 2% pay 40% of all taxes! I pay a road tax, a weight tax, a motor permit fee and Calif. Commercial vehicle fee. I pay $300 for my Contractor License, $575 for my bond and sales tax on thousands worth of materials a week. I generate 1000's per week by producing something that until I make it, it does not exist. For that I get a target on my back that says give it to a person who walks out to the mail box for their income. Dude! How is that fair!

@lthom33 As I have said, society should raise its bar, not lower it. The poor do not respect the environment, our laws, the personal property of others and they have little respect for themselves or others. Crime, vandalism, teen pregnancy, drop out rates, health, the environment and dignity all suffer in low income areas. Go to east L.A. and look around! Go to Disneyland or Rodeo Drive and tell me what you see. Wealth brings beauty, cleanliness and courtesy. You cant save everyone my friend.

@lthom33 By letting them spend, the economy grows in an organic way, investment flows through the private sector which has an interest in efficiency. By confiscating their wealth and distributing it through an inefficient bureaucracy you do not produce anything until the end user spends it. The end user being the poor who do not make wise investments. Meanwhile your wealth is filtered through the regulation and waste of Government Bureaucracy, which has no interest in efficiency. Zero sum game!
