  • @cerberusdest --she got a chance and she fucking rocked it. idk if youve heard the wondergirls' latest album but it is REALLY good and i was skeptical as hell. but she composed one of the songs and it might even be my favorite song on the album. but thats what i think sm is scared of. (and most idol companies- i just think they dont have enough faith in their artists to let them do their own thing but also mostly since not EVERYONE is picked for their talent. if you get streetcasted...)

  • @cerberusdest true and i agree. ive complained about that loads of times, it bothers me a lot. people like fucking taeyeon will always be stuck singing dumbass songs as long as sm is too scared to let their artists produce their own music, /im guessing/ its because of the royalties and other money they get for the music. idk how it works when they buy from overseas producers but i know the artists get barely anything for their contribution but look at yeeun from the wondergirls and G.N.O. she --

  • @ThugLady if their goal really had been to pursue a music career of their own where they would be express their own selves musically, I don't think they would have signed on with these companies as a Korean idol. Once again this isn't to say that all idols are musically inept. This is obviously not true - but to be frank, they are in it for the money and the fame, not musical expression.

  • @ThugLady The thing is, even if they ARE capable, they probably won't ever have the opportunity to make music that doesnt fall under the category of pop, because their contract states that they're in the music business to be popular and successful, not to produce good, original, or fringe music. Idols are under the full and direct control of the label companies that hired them, and they have to perform whatever music is given them. Of course this doesn't prove that they are incapable, but

  • @orgocimaru im not obsessed, im interested. i look at things from all possible sides thats why im into korean music in the first place. if we DONT look at it from MY logic then would it be a given that all idols are talentless? i sense you have a thing against idols and thats cool but that doesnt mean they are incapable of producing good music, you just dont like it. if i can appreciate both then /where/ does my taste lie according to you?

There are pearls under the dirt you just need to seethem

  • @ThugLady By your logic, hard work = quality music? I frankly don't care how hard they work and if we chose to use your logic, all idols would be deemed as good musicians. Let's face it, you're an obsessed fangirl. Don't try to hide it by accusing me of being pretentious. I know good music.

  • @orgocimaru

trying to split up "popluar music" and "old school hip hop" is nonsense in itself.

when i mean split up, i mean praise one and say the other is a piece of crap, by comparison to the other.

both are DIFFERENT genres of music..

even though i listen mostly to the latter, i would not disagree that the "popular music" is bad in certain circumstances.

  • @orgocimaru oh arent you pretentious e__e i dont feel better or worse for liking what i like and i -love- double d and i like yg fam because they atleast have a hand in their own music unlike sm and dsp who mostly hire people who can not sing or dance aka kara

i know what to appreciate and in the end they all work hard and, i suppose, do what they need to do to get their shit sold, i know they work harder in a year than i could so why the hell would i be one to disrespect them?

  • @ThugLady Because no self-respecting person would listen to "ygfam" music and treat it as anything other than mass-produced, hip-pop nonsense masquerading behind a thin veil of a "ghetto" image.
