Love the show!! This discussion brought back some really fond memories. I don't remember the exact comic that got me hooked, but when I was a kid in the early 60s I was sick all the time, and one of the only forms of entertainment I had were the comics my Mom would buy for me. I'm pushing 50 this year and I'm still hooked! Thanks Mom!

Very good idea, great segment. My first was a reprint of the 1940 Batman #1 that my dad brought home for me after I became a fan of the 90s animated series. What a great intro to the world of comics. How could it get any better than the first appearance of the Joker?

DC and Marvel should invest in more reprints for newer readers. Let's face it, with self-contained stories, and more straight-forward storylines, they do a better job of bringing in new readers (hence the much, much higher sales numbers from the 1940s-80s).
There should be Superman, Batman, and Spidey reprints at every grocey check out counter in the Western world. Eastern too.

Mine was Action Comics # 590 (Byrne era)- The metal men and Chemo issue

Two of my first Superman comics were Action #591 with Superboy, and #594 with Booster Gold. Looking back, Byrne was not a great artist or writer, but at least those issues had clear, concise stories that made me want to come back for more.
