  • I am the guy in the movie who plays the bass and says that I have a multitude of sounds in my head. The condition is a real challenge, I know, and I do hope you find a means to control the ringing and anxiety. I take xanax and wear sound devices throughout many of my days.

  • With all the technologies available to manipulate digital audio and every single frequency that exists in a sound wave, I would think the cure to such an awful condition couldn't be so far out of reach. My guess is, the cure for this condition can't be that far off.

  • There's about as many approaches to cures and coping devices for tinnitus as one could imagine: benzodiazapenes like xanas and klonopin, masking or the playing of white noise into the ears via a hearing-aid-like device, Neuromonics (music composed to the person's particular pitch and frequency), TRT or tinnitus retraining therapy, herbs, and other the use of other substances. This condition has led to numerous, more permanent solutions (suicide).

  • The longer you go distracting yourself, the less you will listen to the ringing. It's the body's flight or fight response. It things something is harming you so it directs your attention to the ringing., Try and distract yourself and you'll finally convince your body it's not a threat. You may not listen to the ringing of 10 minutes one day and 20 the next, but you can habituate to it!!

  • I've had tinnitus for a little over two years, the result of an inner ear infection. My ENT said there was not much I could do-not true! It was very difficult at first. I cried, complained all of that. I take 5 mg of Klonopin a day morning and mid afternoon for the anxiety. I take Effexor XR once a day. Anxiety is your worst enemy. When your heart is racing and adreniline and cortisone are pumping, tinnitus is much louder! I find habituation is your best bet as well.

  • i hear that 24/7, even though i am becoming deaf...i still can hear it...i wish i could hear nothing but all i hear is that BEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

  • you know i have Tinnitus for the past 6 years now and particulary this year has gotten 20x worse than ever before, i drive me nuts to be honest and i made an appointment with my audiologist and he did a couple of tests on hearing and he said that because i have tinnitus for so long, i developed presbycusis which is hearing loss and i am only 27 years old...and i have presbycusis on my two ears so now i wear hearing aids but eventually i am going deaf anyways so, there's no point of wearing them

  • sumtimes it sounds like a bee buzzes behind my head

  • For me, the 'sound therapy' treatment is not good. matching/masking the frequencies of your tinnitus with an audio device, only brings my attention to it more. I find listening to 'binaural' sound recordings of environmental sounds much better. I feel that whoever suggests antidepressants, should be lined up and shot. For me, xanax amplified my tinnitus 10-fold, made me an empty shell devoid of emotion, and caused terrible withdrawl symptoms.

  • I started with Tinnitus when I was 7 years old. I suffered a head trauma, & had concussion for a week. When I recovered I had ringing, but I didn't understand. Over the years, I've suffered severe weight loss through stress, sleeplessness, parents sending me to a shrink cause they thought I was nuts. When I didn't sleep, my mother doped me with Vallium which caused me withdrawl. I'm 30 next month & I thank God for everyday. I meditate, avoid stress caffeine & nicotine. Life is hard, but I fight.
