Firekeepers Casino, located in Battle Creek, Michigan, featuring over 106,000 square feet of gaming space, sought out lighting designers Marty Peck and Garrett Maas of Creative Lighting Design & Engineering, to team up with Traxon Technologies to create a one-of-a-kind in-house media experience. Using 160 64PXL Mirror Wash RGB panels, a pixel explosion was created spanning an entire wall in the main gaming area. 40 Mesh RGB systems were used to create two large cubes which hang from the ceiling over the central gaming area, and 164 Mesh RGB systems fill the front entrance vestibule, visible to both the interior and exterior of the casino's entrance. One of Mesh RGB's most unique qualities--its 70% transparency--contributed to both uniqueness and cost savings in the Firekeepers installation by affording the designers the ability to play with media content visible on five sides, simultaneously, on the two hanging cubes. The total 204 Mesh RGB systems mark a milestone for Traxon, as, at the date of completion, this was the largest installation of this product, worldwide. An e:cue VCS-1 server utilizing e:motion software, and an e:cue media engine running programmer 5.1 software, control a massive number of DMX channels--over 310 DMX universes--present.
