Nice looking car. I couldn't tell for sure, but it appears it has the 66 Mustang grill moulding centerpiece trim instead of the 65 Shelby version. In 65, Shelby removed the horse corral from the grill and had to create his own piece to fill the gap left in the center of the grill molding. On the 66 corral it didn't have the vertical pieces so Ford had to create one. Shelby's 65 piece is noticably thicker than the 66 Ford version, and they do reproduce them. Easy fix. Still a very nice car!
This guy knows little about Shelby Mustangs, the history of Carroll Shelby, Shelby American or little else that I can tell from watching his video. It just goes to show you that you have to know little about anything related to a nice GT 350 to own one, except how to write a check
Yeah, this guy don't know anything about his "real" 289 Shelby. It wasn't bored and stroked. The in '67 the 289 was bored to create the 302. Shelby added Tri Y headers, an aluminum intake, and a bigger (715cfm) carb to raise the Hi-Po's 271 horsepower to 306 horsepower.
Nice car here ..could be more honest in the description of this clone..while being a very nice Mustang and from a distance you probably couldn't tell the difference..but Markevcul hit a home run noticing the guy is rather off center in the description of motor knowledge. Nice cars don't need to be over explained..they speak for themselves!!
The 1965 Shelby GT-350, it's Rawm unique, simple, excellent ballanced and is all what a pure Hot Rodder needs?
I drove a 68 Shelby GT500 once with original Engine, and that was massive and fast, but much slower to compair to a 350. 4 speed is all what a Mustanger like me needs, and allthough i get the 2010 shelby wich has 6 speeds, the 350 sounds like a Tiger and Cougar stuck in that key and they Growl everythime you switch that Key.
This car is a 65. It has a 289 hipo. The guy in the video says the 289 was "bored out" to make 306 horsepower. A 289 hipo had a 4.00 bore and a 2.87 stroke. Thats all I was saying. BTW, how do you balance a camshaft or camshafts?
Excellent video, very informative.

The 302 hi po was essentially a stroked 289, and Shelby did use a 302--for 1967
However, Shelby did tune the engine in that he rebalanced the camshafts, rebalanced the crank shaft, put on a new holley carb and so forth.
